Mole and Skin Tag Removal in Toronto: Cost, Methods, and What to Expect

Skin tags and moles are extremely common. Most people have at least a few. Most are completely harmless.

But harmless is not the same as welcome. A skin tag that catches on a necklace every day becomes genuinely irritating. A mole on the face that you think about every time you look in the mirror takes up more mental space than it deserves.

Removal is straightforward. The barrier for most people is simply not knowing what it costs or what the process actually involves.

This guide answers both. We offer mole and skin tag removal at our North York clinic on Sheppard Ave E and our Richmond Hill clinic on John Greene Ln.

Skin tags vs moles: are they the same thing?

No, and the difference affects how they are removed.

Skin tags

A skin tag (medically called an acrochordon) is a small, soft growth attached to the skin by a narrow stalk. They are benign without exception. They appear wherever skin rubs against skin: the neck, underarms, groin, under the breasts, and along the eyelids. They cause no harm but can snag on jewellery and clothing.

Moles

A mole (naevus) is a concentrated cluster of pigmented cells. They can be flat or raised, light or dark. The vast majority are completely harmless. The removal technique for a mole differs slightly from a skin tag depending on the size, depth, and location.

We remove moles that are clearly cosmetic in nature only. If a mole has changed in size, shape, border, or colour, please see a dermatologist for a medical assessment before booking with us.

How much does mole removal cost in Toronto?

This is the most searched question on this topic and the answers vary widely depending on where you look.

Dermatology clinics in Toronto typically charge $150 to $300 or more per lesion for cosmetic removal. Medical spas vary from $50 upward.

At Sonia Cosmetic Clinic, the pricing is transparent and among the most affordable in the city:

  • Skin tags: $15 per tag

  • Small moles: $25 per mole

  • Medium moles: $50 per mole

  • Larger or complex moles: $100 per mole

The same pricing applies at both our North York skin tag removal clinic and our Richmond Hill skin tag removal clinic.

You can also confirm pricing directly on our mole removal North York page and mole removal Richmond Hill page.

What removal methods do we use?

We use precision cosmetic removal techniques appropriate for the type, size, and location of each lesion. Every procedure is performed with sterile instruments in a dedicated clinical environment.

Most skin tag removals take under 15 minutes. Mole removals typically take 15 to 30 minutes depending on the mole. No general anaesthetic is required. Most skin tag removals need no numbing at all. Topical numbing is available for larger moles.

A brief aftercare review follows every procedure. You leave knowing exactly how to care for the treated area.

Is it safe to have moles removed at a cosmetic clinic?

Yes, provided two conditions are met: the mole is confirmed as cosmetic in nature, and you are working with a trained specialist in a proper clinical setting.

At Sonia Cosmetic, Maryam has over 30 years of experience in medical aesthetics and holds a Medical Aesthetician Diploma from Seneca College. Every removal is performed in a sterile environment at either our North York or Richmond Hill clinic.

What we do not do is assess moles medically. If there is any doubt about a mole, we will tell you to see a dermatologist first.

How long does healing take?

Most clients heal within three to seven days. The treated area forms a small scab that falls away naturally. Following Maryam's aftercare instructions significantly reduces the chance of post-treatment pigmentation or scarring.

Results are immediate. The lesion is gone the same day.

Can I remove multiple moles or skin tags in one visit?

Yes. Many clients come in for multiple removals in a single appointment. It is more efficient and cost-effective. Contact us in advance if you have a larger number of lesions so we can allocate the right time for your session.
